Renowned Star Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, according to media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
